He looked scary, but was very actually quite polite and well-behaved. Our special friend this week was a Burmese python that was long enough to wrap around all of the other guests on set.

This snake was so big, it took several people on location, in addition to owners Dana and Suzanne, to carry him over to the couch!
Unfortunately, many snakes end up being purchased on impulse, and then they become abandoned and homeless. Luckily, Monkey Island Rescue was able to provide this big guy a place to stay!

Although snakes have a bad reputation, they are vital to our eco-systems. When handled properly by committed care-takers, snakes can make great companions.

This story about the giant python and Monkey Island was both surprising and entertaining to read. I liked how the post mixed local news with interesting wildlife details that kept my attention the whole time. Earlier this semester, I was preparing presentations for graduate courses while juggling other work, so I turned to Master level online class takers for temporary support. Nature stories can sometimes be more exciting than movies. Wildlife always brings unexpected moments.
